By gradually exposing your immune system to small amounts of pollen through honey, you may experience a reduction in allergic symptoms over time. Same concept as the “allergy shots” some people get from their doctor. Remember to start with small amounts of honey and consult your doctor if you have severe allergies or are allergic to bee products. It’s the best of both worlds. You get to support local farmers, get a sweet treat and you get some relief from your allergy symptoms. Win. Win. Win.

3. Nasal Irrigation

Alright, hear me out! Nasal irrigation, also known as “nasal rinsing,” is a technique that involves flushing out the nasal passages with a saline solution. 4. Essential Oils

Nature’s Holy Grail! Certain essential oils possess anti-inflammatory and decongestant properties that can provide relief from seasonal allergy symptoms. Eucalyptus, peppermint, lavender, and tea tree oils are known for their potential to alleviate nasal congestion, soothe irritated sinuses, and promote respiratory health. There are many different ways that you can use them. Use a diffuser, steam inhalation, or dilute a few drops of essential oil with a carrier oil and apply it to your chest. One of my favorite ways to use oils for myself and my boys is to put a few drops in the far end of the shower floor before my boys get their showers. Doing this creates a “steam effect”, to help open up those clogged and congested sinuses and help you breathe better.

One study found that probiotics reduced seasonal allergy symptoms by as much as 50%. That’s pretty impressive. For more information on the health benefits of probiotics click here.

I personally use the PB assist + ( yes, I know they look like they are supposed to be for kids.) But hear me out… they taste like a “berry flavored” pixie stick. And this product has made a life changing difference for my sons allergies. We tried the over the counter antihistamines for years with no relief. He went from coughing all the time, blowing his nose incessantly, unable to sleep well, and miserable… to a normal, spunky, 10 year old in just a few weeks. It was our “magic bullet” for him. For this reason, this product will NEVER run out in my house. It’s on autoship every single month. It tastes so good, even my husband loves them.
